Synod Assembly is scheduled for June 6 through June 8, 2013 at Messiah College, Grantham.

The assembly will begin with opening a Service of Word and Sacrament in Hitchcock Arena at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6.  Thursday dinner in Lottie Nelson Dining Room (self-serve dinner) is optional. Registration for Thursday evening dinner tickets must be made in advance by the registration deadline.

Assembly Worship Offering

One half of the worship offering at this year’s assembly will be designated to the ELCA Malaria Campaign, an initiative in which our church joins with African companion churches in eleven countries—Angola, Central African Republic, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe—to end malaria.

In addition, one half of the worship offering will designated for student scholarships to the Manow Lutheran Secondary School,  a boarding school in the Konde Diocese. It was founded in 1993 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania. Approximately 700 students currently attend the school where classes are taught in English.
