Associates in Ministry, Diaconal Ministers, and Deaconesses are not ordained as pastors are, but they are commissioned or consecrated by the church and called to ministries of Word and Service. Among these service ministries are Christian education, music, social outreach, visitation, chaplaincy, youth ministry, counseling, parish worker, and health ministries.
